In February 2025, the Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy launched the Motherland 2025 project in Abuja. The initiative aims to reconnect the Nigerian diaspora with their roots through cultural tourism, heritage investments, and storytelling.
A highlight is the “See Motherland Through Your Eyes” competition, encouraging diaspora Nigerians to share their experiences and perspectives of home. This program is expected to attract cultural investments and foster pride in Nigerian heritage.
