CBN’s New Platform Boosts Diaspora Financial Access

A major breakthrough came when the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), in partnership with the Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System, introduced a platform that allows Nigerians abroad to obtain their Bank Verification Number (BVN) without visiting the country.
This move aims to increase financial inclusion and boost remittance inflows, with the CBN targeting $1 billion per month in diaspora remittances. The digital solution also streamlines access to Nigerian banking services, enabling smoother investments from overseas.
