Adebayo Ogunlesi is a distinguished Nigerian-born investment banker and prominent figure in global finance. He is the Chairman and Managing Partner of Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), a leading independent infrastructure investment fund with a diverse portfolio spanning across energy, transport, and water sectors. Under Ogunlesi’s leadership, GIP has become one of the world’s foremost infrastructure investment firms, known for its strategic investments and innovative approaches.

 

Born in Lagos, Nigeria, Ogunlesi’s early academic achievements set the stage for a remarkable career. He earned a degree in Law from the University of Cambridge, followed by a Master’s degree in Law from Harvard Law School. His legal and financial expertise was further honed during his tenure at the international law firm Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton, where he specialized in corporate finance.
